Stumbled across this post while I was browsing the world wide web, and I reckon it has the potential to give us some much needed inspiration for our interface designs. We could easily incorporate some of the features from both the Microsoft and Apple versions, into our own app.
Hope this inspires you as much as it did me.
Heres a very accesible and very easy way of understanding our targeted audience needs. In my case- the elderlies. This video will show you how convenient and easy it is to contact, receive, communicate to other people just by having NFC on their MObile phone.

This design was produced by Sons & Co. for the Christchurch art gallery in 2011. The layout is clean and simple follow. There is only five page links in the home section, which reduces clutter by offering clear and subtracted links to follow. This results in reducing information overload. I have yet to test the app itself to see what the navigation’s/ operations are like. In the storyboard, it is worth noting that the page continues vertacally outside of the iphone template, this is to show the non visable. By showcasing this I already know as the viewer that the scrolling of the pages is vertical, withouteven physicaly testing the app out. This app received a gold award at the bestawards.co.nz.

There is a few different breeds of QR codes out there, there is some debates this particular one… IQR has an 80% higher data capacity and for the equivalent data is 30% smaller. Also the new code can be used in a rectangular format for printing in narrow spaces or on cylindrical products. I have read that smart phones cannot yet decode IQR codes. IQR is the new QR code but it will not replace the QR code becuase it has not reached it’s full potential. We would not need the extra data space anyway.
